Visits and eligibility

Community Health Group covers doula services in alignment with the California Medi-Cal doula benefit: 1 initial visit (up to 90 minutes), 8 perinatal visits, continuous labor and birth support, 2 extended postpartum visits, and up to 9 additional postpartum visits with a written recommendation from a second provider. Coverage is available up to 12 months postpartum, with no referral required.

Your Community Health Group-covered doula provides continuous labor support including comfort measures, position changes, and emotional encouragement throughout your birth.

Postpartum support

Community Health Group covers postpartum doula visits to support your recovery, newborn care, feeding, and emotional well-being during the postpartum period.
